VIRGINIA MASTER NATURALIST PROGRAM, BANSHEE REEKS CHAPTER
Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve is home to the Banshee Reeks Chapter of the Virginia Master Naturalist Program. This program supports a statewide corps of volunteers providing education, outreach, and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within our communities.
The Chapter offers an eight-month training course for community members interested in certification as a Virginia Master Naturalist. The course covers topics in biogeography, botany, ecology, ornithology, management and conservation of ecological systems such as wetlands, forests, and urban/suburban settings, as well as teaching and interpretive skills in citizen science.

LOUDOUN COUNTY AEROMODELERS ASSOCIATION
The goal of the Loudoun County Aeromodelers Association (LCAA) is to promote model aircraft building and flying for the purposes of education, pleasure, and recreation. LCAA holds meetings and events throughout the region.
LCAA uses one field at Banshee Reeks as a landing strip to fly planes.

ARCHEOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF VIRGINIA, BANSHEE REEKS CHAPTER
The Archeological Society of Virginia (ASV) was founded in 1940. It is one of the oldest state societies in the country. The ASV has published a Quarterly Bulletin since its inception.
Members of ASV come from all walks of life. Many members had little or no formal training in the science and art of archeology before they got involved with a local chapter of the society. Although the society boasts a large number of professional archeologists, the majority of the society’s most active members, including most of its board members and elected officers, are amateur archeologists. Herein the title of archeologist is used to describe anyone who participates in archeological survey, excavation, analysis, or discourse in order to increase their own knowledge, to further knowledge of archeology in general, or for the sheer love of doing archeology. Amateur archeologists participate in archeological projects for a wide variety of reasons.
LOUDOUN WILDLIFE CONSERVANCY
Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy (LWC) is a non-profit organization with its home base at Morven Park in Leesburg, VA. Every year, hundreds of volunteers across Loudoun County contribute their time leading field trips, helping with habitat restoration projects, writing articles, staffing special events booths, participating in citizen science projects, and working behind the scenes to deliver the products and programs used to reach people across the region. LWC uses local parks, sanctuaries, private refuges, libraries, and community centers to hold their programs, field trips, and events.
Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve is a key destination for many of the LWC programs. One regular program is the LWC-led birdwatching hikes on the second Saturday of each month.
U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY
